On May 9, 2014, Rev. Msgr. Eugene J. Fitzsimmons, J.C.D. of the Camden Diocese passed away at St. Mary's Catholic Home in Cherry Hill. Ordained on June 1, 1960, Msgr. served the Camden Diocese for 54 years notably as the rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception as well as pastor at St. John the Baptist in Camden, St. Martin de Porres in Hammonton and St. Michael's in Gibbstown. Msgr. Fitzsimmons also served on the Tribunal for the Diocese.

He was the devoted son of the late, Eugene and Esther Fitzsimmons. He is the beloved brother of Margaret Mary Fitzsimmons, Rev. Msgr. Thomas B. Fitzsimmons and Irene E. Fitzsimmons.

Relatives, friends and Reverend Clergy are invited to the reception of his body immediately followed by his viewing on Monday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th Avenue and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, NJ. There will be a viewing Tuesday morning at St. Rose of Lima Church from 9:00 - 10:45 AM followed by His Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
