Pope Francis has appointed Monsignor Gregory Gordon as the Diocese of Las Vegas’ first auxiliary bishop.

WASHINGTON—Pope Francis has appointed the Rev. Msgr. Gregory Gordon as auxiliary bishop of Las Vegas. Bishop-elect Gordon is a priest of the Diocese of Las Vegas and currently serves as vicar general, chancellor, and moderator of the curia for the Diocese of Las Vegas. The appointment was publicized in Washington, D.C. on May 28, 2021 by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States.

Most Rev.Michael Hoeppner has retired as of 4/13/2021

The Vatican said Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Crookston Bishop Michael Hoeppner on Tuesday and named a temporary replacement to run the diocese. Hoeppner is 71, four years shy of the normal retirement age for bishops.

Archbishop Gullickson, Papal Nuncio to Switzeland, to return to Sioux Falls

Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Archbishop Thomas Gullickson, 70, who said “the Holy Father and I both think it is time. No real story to tell.” Archbishop Gullickson recently discussed his “firm conviction that the only future for the Church is in its recovery of integral Catholic worship according to the Vetus Ordo” [Old Ordo], as well as the urgency of “stepping back from the Novus Ordo, especially when it comes to Eucharistic reverence.”
